Working Together South King Street Medical Centre & Adelaide Street Family Practice

Dear PATIENT

We are striving to improve services for all of our patients. There is currently a trend for areas to have bigger medical practices to improve resilience and therefore have decided to work much more closely with South King Street Medical Centre and Adelaide Street Family Practice (incorporating Harris Medical Centre) to work towards merging as one practice in the future.

This would give our patients more choice of GPs; nurses; Health Care Assistants; Pharmacists and Paramedics. If we increase our strengths by working together we can work towards a new bigger modern building (on the site of the current buildings) for the increased capacity. This would give us the opportunity to also introduce more services closer to home for all of our patients. We are working with Blackpool Council; NHS England and Blackpool CCG to try to make this happen for you.

This means that at first you could book appointments at any of the three buildings that had an appointment on the day; have a bigger choice of clinicians to see and more shared resources. Eventually the buildings at South King Street and Adelaide Street would become one large new build medical centre. The Harris Medical Centre would remain at its current site but would benefit from additional shared clinicians.

At the moment we are working towards these changes and value your opinions on them. We have constructed a short survey and would be grateful if you would take a few moments to complete this online (see link Below) or complete a paper copy and return to the reception team at South King Street Medical Centre or Adelaide Street Family Practice (incorporating Harris Medical Centre).

Thank you for working with us to make Blackpool’s GP services better.
